At Kanab, UT I went to the Escalante National Park and Paria. The views were great and I hiked mostly along the Paria river. There is a 20 mile hike in the Paria Box Canyon but the one I took was at the end of the road and last for 4 days if you take it all the way. When I got to the end of the road (sand) there was only one other car there so it was totally quiet, except for the birds and the water.
